Assessments and Feasibility Studies

Assessments and feasibility s tudies for public safety agencies, including regionalization of 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) centers and other public safety government services. CTC has the capability to assess the performance of a wide variety of public safety agencies to identify the feasibility of consolidating or regionalizing those services with other government entities.

CTC’s expert staff can provide an extensive review of your current Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), and other public safety services where the community is considering the regionalization of those services.  Members of our staff have hands-on experience in the consolidation of public safety agencies and the development of regional 911 PSAPs. This service includes an assessment of all physical facilities, personnel, and policies and procedures, as well as provides a detailed report with recommendations for consolidating these services. CTC’s assessment will consider the following:

    • Facilities (both how to secure part-time facilities during off hours, as well as how to build new facilities to meet your particular needs);
    • Call processing and dispatching practices;
    • Cost savings and financial analysis;
    • Best practices for consolidation;
    • Identification of community concerns;
    • Advice on problem solving methods;
    • Governance options for regionalization;
    • Options for acquiring state-of-the-art 911 technologies; and
    • Contingency planning.
